Cave Triathlon registrations open on October 21: experience the most surprising triathlon in the Benelux!

On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, registrations open for the Cave Triathlon! After the great success of the previous edition, this unique triathlon event is gearing up for a new edition in Kanne, near Maastricht. With a spectacular passage through the marl caves, a challenging course, and both a short and a half triathlon distance, it promises once again to be a special sporting experience.

A triathlon you won't experience anywhere else

The Cave Triathlon is not just any triathlon. In picturesque Kanne, right on the Belgian-Dutch

border, a course awaits participants that combines a sporting challenge with an exceptional environment.

The absolute highlight? The spectacular running section through the cool marl caves. A unique experience that sets the Cave Triathlon apart from other races and that every triathlete should experience at least once.

The fact that the concept is a hit was proven during the 2026 edition. With almost 1,000 participants, the event was completely sold out and the Cave Triathlon grew into one of the largest triathlons in Flanders.

Two distances, one unique experience

For the next edition as well, triathletes can choose between two challenging distances.

Short distance – drafting

• 600 meter swim

• 28 kilometer bike (3 laps)

• 6 kilometer run

Half distance – non-drafting

• 1,900 meter swim

• 90 kilometer bike (3 laps)

• 21 kilometer run

With the half distance, the Cave Triathlon offers an attractive challenge for athletes looking to compete over the popular 70.3 distance without having to travel far.

In addition, participants can also compete as a team via the relay format. Ideal for friends, colleagues, and companies who want to experience the special atmosphere of the Cave Triathlon together.

Limited number of entries

To guarantee the quality of the event and the participant experience, the number of available entries remains limited.

There are 600 entries available for the half distance and 400 for the short distance.

So anyone who wants to take part had better not wait too long. Interest in 70.3 distance triathlons is particularly high, and several similar races in the Benelux have sold out in record time in recent years.
